KYA - Know Your Affiliates Posted 1 year ago

To get affiliates to market your online products and services is not very difficult. Although getting quality affiliates to promote your brand and bring in revenue on a consistent basis is more difficult. One of the key ways to accomplishing this is to develop a strong relationship with each affiliate and then leverage that relationship on an on-going basis, so that it is a mutually beneficial relationship.

To establish this relationship, you must know your affiliates.  Let us take a look at a few of the important things affiliate managers can do in order to know their affiliates and establish a strong bond.

Reputation: While it is the job of an affiliate manager to grow the company’s list of affiliates, it is vital that the affiliate manager does not rush the process. There must be a strict verification process in place to ensure that before an affiliate application is approved, the reputation of the affiliate is closely scrutinized to ensure that you are getting the right affiliate who has a good reputation. Remember, you can do a lot of harm to your brand if you bring in affiliates who have a poor reputation.

Security: You want to build a relationship with your affiliate that gives you security and assurance that your brand will not be poorly represented. You want to establish credibility and reliability with your team of affiliates to ensure that they know you and do not encourage any shortcuts to profits. You want everything to be done in a manner that reflects the quality and reputation of your brand. Affiliates who cannot give you this assurance or are willing to cut corners to maximize their income are best avoided. If you find that such affiliates are already on board, the best solution is to cut them sooner rather than later.

Quality of Leads: Affiliate managers that do well build relationships with their affiliates so that they are able to understand where they are sourcing their leads from. The last thing that you want is to be pumped with thousands of leads that are of poor quality and will not convert. You need to make it very clear to your affiliates that you prefer quality to quantity because at the end of the day, it is the leads that convert into sales that matter.

If you keep these three things in mind, you will not only know your affiliates well, they will boost your revenue and vice versa.
